Welcome!
The Wildheart Papers is an online journal by Eleanor Cheetham. Here you’ll find personal reflections, experimentation, and thoughts on wild writing and publishing.
Hi! I’m Eleanor…
I’m a writer, editor and educator. My most recent book - The Rewilding Yearbook - came out in October 2025 (Verbena Books).
Previous publications include:
Intrinsic (2022) - an anthology of nature-led essays I curated and edited
Wildhearted Words of Winter (2019) - a chapbook of my poetry
Creative Countryside magazine (2017-2019) - on story, folklore and nature
In 2024, I created The Wildheart Press as a space for wild words and re-enchanted writing. I see the Press as a creative ecosystem - a place where writers come to deepen their craft, rewild their language and return to the roots of story.
Here at The Wildheart Papers you’ll find:
🪶 For everyone…
Regular(ish) posts about wild writing and publishing
Personal musings and experimentation
🪶 For paid subscribers…
A monthly collection of wild writing prompts, inspired by the seasons and cycles - available as a printable PDF download
A monthly guided reading collection - each month we read a themed collection of texts (for example: one month we might read an article, a poem and a chapter from a book, all inspired by the word ‘grow’)
Additional resources or support - occasionally other posts will be shared to offer guidance on what it means to be a wild writer
